Dr. Bernal is a board certified Chiropractic Physician.
He has his certification in Physio-Therapy (PT), Acupuncture, and post graduate education in spinal trauma and whiplash treatment.
He is also experienced in Chiroptractic Pediatrics, and is a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®.

Dr. Bernal Wins Young Leaders Society -Leader of the Year Award
UNITED WAY YOUNG LEADER OF THE YEAR AWARD ANNOUNCED AT LEADERSHIP LIVE
The United Way Young Leaders Society (YLS) is pleased to announce that Josie Bayang and Dr. Jesus Bernal have been named co-recipients of the Young Leader of the Year Award. Presented at the 2010 Sunset Show Leadership LIVE on March 2, the Young Leader of the Year Award is the highest honor given by YLS to a young leader for extraordinary leadership and commitment to community service.
Dr. Bernal is a Chiropractic Physician with Bernal Chiropractic. His great passion is people, and he is

dedicated to helping others succeed and to live healthier lives. He regularly serves as a community health educator and hosts a weekly health tip talk show on a Spanish radio station. He also donates his time and medical facilities to teaching job skills and training students at Apollo College and the Pima Medical Institute. Dr. Bernal also volunteers with United Way, Mulcahy YMCA, St. John's Evangelist Catholic Church and the Humane Society.
The Young Leader of the Year Award was established in 2008 to recognize an individual who has emerged as a community leader and exemplifies the mission of United Way through a demonstrated commitment to volunteerism, philanthropy and leadership in the areas of Education, Income and Health.

Dr. Bernal Saves A Life!
A Tucson man gives back after performing life saving CPR on a two year old boy.

Authorities say, a father from New Mexico was gathering his five children to leave the pool when one of them fell in.
Bernal says he sprang into action after seeing a poolside crowd gather. "I just got in the zone. I did what I was trained to do. I did check to see if there was a pulse or breathing. There was neither."
Bernal went on the radio at a local Spanish speaking station the following day to share what happened. "To take a baby without a pulse and not breathing... take him in your hands and do what you were trained to do and bring him back to life. His mother was very grateful. She was trying to kiss my hand."
Bernal says lucky for him, he just earned his CPR certification two weeks ago. His job as a sports physician requires it. "Because of that requirement I was able to save this baby.
Bernal is now committed to doing what he can to save more lives. He'll start at the place he works... Rio Rico Health and Wellness Inc. "We are going to offer a laminated sheet with water and summer safety tips that anyone can come and get."
Bernal says this has been a humbling experience. He's quick to shed the spotlight. "I think the credit for this should go to Desert Fire CPR because they're the ones who did a great job with the training."
No life guards are stationed at La Paloma Resort swimming pools. To be balanced, KVOA contacted La Paloma who say some staff, managers and security personnel are CPR certified with courses offered several times a year.
